Jane’s roots trace back to the first store on Thurman Avenue on Columbus’ south side, and she and her family remain committed to the area. With a vision of building prosperity in the community by closing the racial and economic gap, Jane raised $16 million and co-founded the Reeb Avenue Center - a social-services center housing 13 non-profits that focus on education and workforce development. A portion of Jane’s speaking honorarium and profits generated from the sale of The Missing Piece: Doing Business the Donatos Way will be donated to the Reeb Avenue Center.
Jane’s concept for the Donatos Family Foundation was to mobilize the caring power of her family’s business associates and partners throughout the country, to make a sustainable, positive impact on the lives of the people and communities they serve.
“We’re taking what’s in our hearts and making it actionable by addressing three specific areas: housing, hunger, and health.”
Her approach has been well planned, intentional, strategic, and focused. It’s about making a commitment and creating positive, sustainable change over time.
“We’ll begin our work by building a hub of hope in every community. Influencing our neighbors with love and compassion as if they were our own - to give them and their families new opportunities to thrive.”
